Frequently ask question

Why are some services cheaper than others?

The truth is, if you think a professional is expensive wait until you hire an amateur! It may seem cheaper to hire and “Independent” house cleaner but in the long run it really isn’t. Cheaper services usually mean they haven’t had a background check or proper training and you have to provide all of their supplies. And if you’re considered their employer, you’re responsible for their payroll taxes!

Are your cleaning technicians employees or subcontractors?

Our cleaning technicians are employees. Each one has been thoroughly screened and trained.

Do you do background checks and thorough screenings?

Absolutely!

How long have you been in business?

We have been cleaning homes and commercial offices for over 15 years!

Are you a franchise?

While we may look like a franchise, we have always been family owned and operated. That means we can offer you a more customized service and our prices are usually slightly lower than the franchises.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes! Your safety and protection are our top priority!

Does your staff speak English?

Yes. Our employees must be able to read and speak English. We absolutely do not use illegal labor.

Yes, but you can cancel your contract service with 30 days notice.

When do I pay for services?

Payment is always due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made with the Office in advance.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

What about my pets?

We love them! However, if your pet is temperamental please make sure they are safely secured before the Cleaning Technician’s arrival. Any special requests regarding your pet are noted on your account. For floor cleaning, you must lock your pets away in a secure location. The cleaning technician comes in and out several times bringing in products and equipment and we want to make sure they don’t escape. We also want to make sure they don’t get under foot and get stepped on or tripped over.

Do I have to be home during service?

No. Most of our clients give us a key and / or alarm code and have their credit card information saved on file. Our employees are carefully screened and trained.

Are my things safe with your employees?

Absolutely! We conduct criminal background checks on every prospective employee as well as verify job history and check references.

Who provides the product and equipment for house cleaning services?

We’ll provide all of the cleaning products unless you have something specific that you’d like the Cleaning Technician to use. Then simply leave it on the counter for them. While we’d prefer to use your vacuum for sanitary purposes, our Cleaning Technicians so have their own equipment to use when necessary.

What if I need to add extra tasks or services?

Just give us a call the day before your appointment and we’ll give you a quote for the additional services.

What if I have to skip or cancel my service?

Give us 48 hours’ notice (or 72 hours for a Monday appointment) of your change in plans and we’ll be happy to reschedule or cancel your service.

Should I have a Spring cleaning every year?

Many of our clients do have a deep cleaning done annually to maintain those out of reach places that are not part of the normal maintenance cleaning routine.

What method of carpet cleaning do you use?

We use hot water extraction, most commonly referred to as steam cleaning. The water that we use is always 100% filtered soft water to leave your carpet feeling fresh and fluffy, not crunchy.

Do I have to vacuum my floors before you come to steam clean my carpet or tile?

No, there’s no need for you to pre-vacuum. We will always vacuum before we leave your facility.

How long does it take my carpet to dry?

The average dry time in Florida is between 4-6 hours. This does fluctuate depending on humidity and the amount of air flow in the home. We will turn on ceiling fans in any of the rooms we clean. If weather conditions are right, opening windows and doors will also speed up dry time. Running the air conditioner can speed up the drying process by pulling the humidity out of the air.

Is it true that carpets can re-soil more quickly once they are cleaned?

That can be true if you have someone that doesn’t know what they are doing or uses the wrong products. Companies that charge a low per room price have to use cheaper products that contain more soap. More soap means more suds. More suds can plug vacuum lines, leaving a residue in your carpet. This residue will attract dirt, causing your carpets to re-soil more quickly. The cleaning methods we use, coupled with a soap-free, certified green clean product, will not leave a residue so your carpets stay clean longer..

Will your carpet cleaning fulfill the warranty requirements for my carpet’s maintenance?

Yes, the warranty on your carpet states that the carpets need to be cleaned every 12-18 months by an IICRC certified company like Amertil Home Care and Cleaning Services.

Will cleaning my carpets help with my allergies?

Yes. Your carpet acts like a huge air filter. It needs regular maintenance to work properly. Some people believe that carpet is bad for people that have allergies but it’s actually very helpful if maintained properly. Hard surface flooring doesn’t trap things like dust or pet hair. When the kids and dogs run through the house, they stir all that up, causing it to go into the air and into your lungs. Carpet will catch those particles and keep them from becoming airborne. Proper vacuuming and cleaning will also help to keep allergies down.

Should I re-apply carpet protector to my carpets once they’ve been cleaned?

Yes. Over time, foot traffic causes soil to become ground in and trapped in your carpet’s fibers. To the naked eye, dirt has a smooth look to it. But if you look at it under a microscope, soil is actually an abrasive with sharp, jagged edges. The soil acts like tiny saws, cutting into the protector, exposing and damaging the delicate fibers. No exposed, spoils and soil can penetrate deep into the heart of your carpet. This causes your carpet to “ugly out” faster. It can also expose the fibers to the possibility of permanent staining, eventually causing it to wear out. That’s why it’s so important to apply protector; to protect the investment in your home.

Can you guarantee to remove all stains?

Sorry, no. Not all stains can be removed but be assured that we’ll do everything in our power to try and remove them before we say they’re permanent.

What if I’m not totally satisfied with your work?

We strive to make sure that we do the job right the first time, but we are human, and mistakes can happen. If for whatever reason you’re not completely satisfied with the work that has been performed, just call the office and we’ll come out and do whatever needs to be done to resolve any issues.
